The water in Nhulunbuy is amongst the best tasting in the world, purified and emanating from eons old aquifers, however on the islands and during voyages, we supply you with bottled water.

Activities

What’s the best time of year to visit you?

Each season has its own attraction. The best climate is between March and December, but in the monsoon season, the fishing is better.

My partner wants to go fishing but I just want to chill out during the day, reading and swimming. Can I do this?

Yes, we have a staff member at the Retreat at all times who can provide the necessary cover while leaving you to your own devices.

I want to organize a management bonding exercise - what’s the maximum group size?

For this type of enterprise we can accommodate up to twelve individuals at Banubanu, six of whom can fish off MV Nomad at the same time.

Can I finish off with a game of golf?

Nhulunbuy has a nine hole golf course.

Miscellaneous

How do I access the internet and retrieve and send emails?

We have 3G cell phone access close to the Retreat and so iPhones, iPads and other 3G enabled devices can receive and send email. We are investigating putting up up a 3G repeater in the near future to provide wider access at Banubanu.

There is normally a good 3G service when out on MV Nomad.
