Getting to Bremer Island

Bremer Island is located in North East Arnhem Land Northern Territory. Nhulunbuy being the nearest town with the Gove airport being our closest airport.

Getting to Banubanu

Upon arrival into to Nhulunbuy there are several ways to get to Bremer Island:


Take a 15-minute flight in a light aircraft from Gove Airport to the Bremer Island airstrip. This scenic flight gives you an aerial view of Bremer Island and the beautiful Arafura Sea. There are weight and volume restrictions on baggage on these flights. Each person is allowed a maximum of 15kg.

The rate is $150 per person one way with a minimum of 2 passengers

Airnorth has daily flights from Darwin and Cairns into Nhulunbuy.

Boat Transfer

Take a one-hour boat trip from the mainland to Bremer Island. Our vessel MV Nomad can transfer up to 10 passengers.

The rate is $80 per person one way with a minimum of 4 passengers

Make your own way

Do you have your own boat or plane? Then why not make your own way to Banubanu. Guests with their own boats are welcome to arrive at either of our beaches under their own steam (or sail). Guests with their own light aircraft can land on the Gutjangan Community airstrip on Bremer Island. Guests with their own helicopter can land safely close to the retreat with prior notice.
